Sony's Android Smartphone Captures Video in 4K

When looking for a new TV it will not take long to notice there is now an Ultra HD TV available. Imagine being able to have the same resolution of the HDTV in the camera of a Smartphone, Sony has did just that. Thanks to a software leak it is being said Sony is working on a phone that will have a 20 megapixel sensor.

Resolution

There are many people that own an HDTV, but few have the 4K television. The new Smartphone by Sony will capture video in Ultra HD which means the phone will have four times resolution of a standard HDTV. The code name for the software is "Honami." It shows the video capability that is being rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chip by Qualcomm. The resolution will be 4,000 x 2,000 for videos.

The software is for Smartphone's and is top of the line for Qualcomm. The chip can handle Ultra HD 4K videos and 3D images that are stereoscopic and stills all the way to 55 megapixels. The sensor is 20 megapixels which will provide stills at a resolution of 5,248 x 3,936 and Snapdragon 800 does it all with ease.

New Features

The images from the Sony Android are suggesting the base software will be revamped also. According to the Xperia Blog the phone is going to have a new app tray, launcher, app for Walkman, clock app, conversations, album, settings, calendar, and phonebook. The Small Apps will have a newer version which means the screen can handle multiple apps at once. New modes for the camera will include:

With this chip that is top of the line powering the handset it should be a flagship that is top performing for the company Sony. The best way of standing out in a very crowded Android market is with the stills that are 20 megapixels and the videos that are Ultra HD. Samsung is the real leader in the market for the Android and the odds of them being left behind are very unlikely.
